Well..the title pretty much says what I am about to write.. it is quite skema though ..that's what kids nowadays say skemma… or poyo… I guess it means generic, unoriginal or rather common.
Life is not a journey (before the mullahs cut me in, I have to qualify this statement, yes it is a journey to God and the hereafter, but that’s a subject of another story).
anyway…
if it was a journey, we would all be rushing.
because a journey is a passage that take us to a pre determined destiny, unlike life…
I am looking at life as an open exploration spiced with all the succeeding discoveries that come across as we explore.
It is a walk in a park, aimless but with a positive connotation. Treasuring, enjoying and challenging every bits of all things surrounding us as we go - breathing the air, smelling the blooms, avoiding or skipping over patches, stepping on poos or dead crispy leafs, kicking pebbles, taking breaks, following stoned-path or rather finding all possible short-cuts there are, picking every twigs or walk on them…. it is just a stroll in a park.
As we treasure the course, we are adapting to or assimilate into it, emulating whenever it suits and finally settle down comfortably to where it takes us. As dynamic as the variables around us, so does our life. Though objective is often set, it changes in the fullness of time to suit us.
Notice how our priorities in life evolve over time. money planned to buy a boom boom bamm car stereos is now thought to be well spent on kids tuition fees instead,
or from a Georgio Armani outfit to an out of Ruwi taylor-made suit.
or a full set of Noretake to a 5-stiches functions Jenome
or working in a glamorous metropolitan KL to a quiet yallah 'free-parking everywhere' town of muscat…
or living a full packed 'sivaji the boss' action life to an action-less life where the only action happens when there is a 'sales' at Home Centerr (double rr, pun intended)
I bet we've never thought of these transitions when we were in our 20s or 30s. Point is, priority in life changes as we age.
why
because life is a quest of a continuous exploration with endless discoveries necessitating frequent adaptations, or changes to course of life to suits our present priorities. A journey will daunt us to plans towards a pre determined goal.
